With the third annual Better Together: California Teachers Summit just two months away, teachers across the state have signed up to be a part of this powerful day of learning led by teachers, for teachers. We have an inspiring lineup of speakers confirmed – including local teachers at each site – and today, we have exciting news to share!

We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Jill Biden will be joining us as our keynote speaker! Dr. Biden is a lifelong educator and wife of former Vice President Joe Biden. As Second Lady, she worked to highlight the importance of community colleges to America’s future while continuing to teach as a full-time English professor at a community college in Northern Virginia. With the February 2017 launch of the Biden Foundation, Jill and her husband will continue their commitment to public education. Dr. Biden’s experience and insights are especially valuable as California strives to better serve all of our students in a changing world. Dr. Biden will speak at the headquarters site of Saint Mary’s College of California, and her remarks will be simulcast to 34 other sites across the state.

Dr. Biden, who has taught at community colleges, a public high school and a psychiatric hospital for adolescents over her 30-year teaching career, has seen firsthand how great teachers can change the lives of students for the better. Now more than ever, teachers deserve an opportunity to come together and share ways to support our students, protect our values as educators and set an example for the rest of the country.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear from Dr. Biden and your fellow teachers! Register today for an event location near you at CATeachersSummit.com. Don’t forget to follow @CATeacherSummit on Facebook and Twitter for updates, and join the conversation using the hashtag #BetterTogetherCA.

Hope to see you on July 28th!
