The chat will be moderated by #BetterTogetherCA Summit Teacher Panelist and Advisory Committee Member, Sarah Kesty.

Sarah Kesty has worked with students with a range of disabilities for over twelve years. She has a Masters in Special Education from Sacramento State and two teaching credentials. Sarah is a passionate advocate for people with disabilities. She has experience teaching Kindergarten through high school aged students and coaching Special Olympics.

Sarah has spoken to groups of teachers, parents, and students about disability awareness, advocacy, and maximizing life satisfaction. Her speaking has taken her all the way to Belize, where she taught a seminar on behavior management to a group of 150 teachers.

Sarah is on the advisory board for the CMTA, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association. She writes and presents for CARS+, the organization for special education teachers. In 2014, Sarah was named Twin Rivers School District’s Teacher of the Year. Sarah lives in San Diego, where she is an Academic Coach for special education programs.
