For our January #BetterTogetherCA Twitter chat, we have two excellent teacher-leaders joining us to discuss the Flipped Learning approach and share strategies with teachers interested in giving it a try. The chat will be a great opportunity to share ideas, resources, and insights that could help our community further explore Flipped Learning.
Julie Garcia, @julieinsd, spent 22 years as math teacher and technology advocate. In a 1:1 iPad take home program, she implemented the flipped classroom and project based learning while adhering to State Standards. She recently served as a technology resource teacher for San Diego Unified School district where she supported teachers and schools as they move toward a 1:1 environment. Her current role is Program Manager of Instructional Technology for San Diego Unified School District where she works with district leadership on thoughtful integration of technology.
Bradley Peterson, @Clickademics, brings an entrepreneurial spirit to his classroom so that all of his students can learn their best. He has taught middle school English for 18 years and helps his peers at Village Christian School use education technology. Throughout his career, he has leveraged technology to reach his students and even built Clickademics.com, a webapp that helps students write essays. Among language arts teachers, he was an early-adopter of flipping his classroom and has almost 100 grammar and writing lessons online. He is the founding organizer of Edcamp San Fernando Valley.
