NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS (NGSS)
Preparing students for 21st Century Citizenship and Careers
This Better Together EdTalk South event is an opportunity for teachers and anyone interested in science education to come together to learn more about the NGSS, California’s new set of expectations for scientific literacy. Come hear from teachers who have been successful with NGSS as they share their stories, techniques, strategies, and tips for instruction and application. Following a keynote address and several EdTalk teachers, the audience will engage in a Q&A with a panel of speakers.
Our keynote speaker will be Tara Tiger Brown. Tara Tiger Brown has served as an entrepreneur, executive director, technical director and product manager for numerous institutions and organizations including Microsoft, Digital Media Learning Research Hub at UCI Irvine, Connected Learning Alliance (CLA), Annenberg Innovation Lab at University of Southern California and Born This Way Foundation. She co-founded LA Makerspace, Connected Camps, and most recently, KitHub, KitHub, a company that provides STEAM education programs and environmental monitoring solutions.
