This Better Together EdTalk Central Coast event is an opportunity for teachers and anyone interested in science education to come together to learn more about the NGSS, California’s new set of expectations for scientific literacy. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a reception during which participants can mingle and enjoy coffee and hearty appetizers. The program, beginning at 6 p.m., includes a keynote presentation by a local industry leader Amy Kardel (Director of Cleaver Ducks San Luis Obispo), who will explain the importance of supporting STEM education in our local schools. Three local educators will give 15-minute EdTalk presentations about their experiences implementing the new standards. In addition, two high school students will share their experiences of content delivered with the “NGSS Mindset.” The evening will end with the four speakers sitting on a panel to address questions and respond to comments from the participants. Listen, engage, and network!
