SUMMARY:TeachPlus Teacher-led Professional Learning 2-Day Institute at CSU Dominguez Hills
DESCRIPTION:\n\nIn collaboration with California State University\, Dominguez Hills\, Teach Plus proposes to accomplish the following objectives:\n\n\n\n\n \tBring together teachers across the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas from the CSU network and the Better Together Conference network to collaborate and learn best instructional practices on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for meaningful professional learning led by excellent teacher leaders. Both 2-day Institutes will be held the week of June 26th.\n \tBuild momentum leading into the Better Together Conference (July 28\, 2017) through the training of teacher leaders and bringing together teachers at the CSU campuses.\n\nThis will be achieved through two summer two-day institutes held at both CSU campuses with eight selected teacher leaders who will co-facilitate the sessions. Teacher leaders\, participants\, CSUs\, and the Better Together networks will highlight the cross collaborative work and instructional impact publicly through media outlets that builds momentum and opportunities for further meaningful engagement at the Better Together Conference. Teacher leaders will help facilitate Educamps in the morning and will also be part of the afternoon programming at each of the respective campuses.\nTeach Plus will provide the recruitment and selection of four returning teacher leaders who have proven expertise in their content areas and experience in adult facilitation in order to co-facilitate with four selected teacher leaders from the CSU network.
